Camino Lebaniego : Pilgrimage to Monastery of Santo Toribio in Potes

After walking the Camino Primitivo we had a taste for the mountains and our thoughts turned to the Camino Lebaniego. We planned to walk in June 2020 but then the world changed and things stood still.

Because we live in France, when the border with Spain opened in July 2020, we booked an apartment and went walking. It wasn’t a traditional Camino BUT it was a Camino that meant so much more.

This is a beautiful route, through the Picos de Europa, and one day we’ll return and walk from albergue to albergue. In the meantime I hope our notes are useful for any one planning this amazing Camino.
