Camino Route Planning & itinerary Review Service

A more personal way to plan your Camino

Created by Colleen | Updated :29 May 2026 | ,

Many pilgrims successfully walk the Camino by following the arrows, staying flexible and figuring things out as they go. But the Camino is not one-size-fits-all, and neither are our lives.

Some pilgrims want a little more structure before they leave home. They may be looking for:

  • Reassurance that their stages and timeframes are realistic
  • Help planning shorter walking days, rest days or more complex itineraries
  • Advice about accommodation options
  • Support balancing their Camino with flights, family or work commitments
  • Peace of mind that they are prepared before they leave home

If that sounds familiar, I can help. Iโ€™ve walked 24 Caminos and I work with pilgrims to create realistic Camino plans that fit their pace, their preferences and their priorities.

I don’t offer package tours or cookie-cutter itineraries. Instead, we work together to create a Camino that works for you.

You’ll remain actively involved throughout the process, so you’ll understand your route, your stages and your options, making it much easier to adapt as your Camino unfolds.

What Itinerary Planning Services Do I Offer?

Not every pilgrim needs the same level of support. Some people already have their own itinerary and would simply like an experienced second opinion before they start booking accommodation and flights. Others would like help creating their Camino from scratch.

That’s why I offer two different services.

1. Camino Itinerary Review

Do you already have a plan? I can review your proposed stages, pacing and overall itinerary, helping you identify potential issues and opportunities for improvement before you commit to booking accommodation or flights.

This service is ideal for pilgrims who have done most of the planning themselves but would like reassurance from someone who has walked the Camino many times.

What you’ll receive

  • A detailed review of your itinerary and stages
  • Suggestions for improvements and alternative options
  • Advice on pacing, rest days and route choices
  • Answers to your specific questions and concerns

Review Pricing

  • Up to 2 weeks: โ‚ฌ175
  • Up to 5 weeks: โ‚ฌ275
  • Up to 5+ weeks: โ‚ฌ375

2. Camino Itinerary Planning

This service is for pilgrims who would like help creating a Camino itinerary from scratch.

Whether you’re looking for shorter stages, extra rest days, private rooms, a slower pace, or simply want help making sense of your options, we’ll work together to create a Camino that fits your life, your pace and your priorities.

You’re not buying a spreadsheet or a list of accommodation. You’re buying the benefit of my experience from 24 Caminos, years of helping pilgrims, and an experienced pair of eyes to help shape a realistic and enjoyable journey.

What you’ll receive

  • A personalised stage-by-stage itinerary
  • Suggestions for accommodation, rest days and route options
  • Practical notes and recommendations based on my own Camino experience
  • A planning document with route notes and recommendations
  • A spreadsheet to help organise your journey
  • Opportunities to review and refine the plan as we work together

Itinerary Planning Pricing

  • Up to 1 week: from โ‚ฌ325
  • 1 to 3 weeks: from โ‚ฌ475
  • 3+ weeks: from โ‚ฌ625

Final pricing depends on the length and complexity of your Camino. I’ve helped pilgrims plan everything from a week-long Camino, to a group Camino, to a slow-paced journey spanning almost two months.

How My Planning And Review Service Works

I’ve tried to make the process as simple and flexible as possible.

And just as every Camino is different, every planning service is slightly different too. To make sure the process feels right for both of us, we begin with a short discovery call.

Step 1. Camino Discovery Call

Complete the enquiry form below and I’ll be in touch to arrange a short 15-minute discovery chat.

We’ll talk about your Camino plans, goals and questions. This gives us a chance to get to know each other, answer any initial questions and decide whether this service is the right fit for your needs.

Step 2. Planning Proposal & Booking

After our initial conversation, I’ll put together a simple outline of the support I feel would best suit your Camino plans, along with pricing and an estimated timeframe.

If you decide to move forward, you’ll then receive:

  • Payment details
  • A booking link for our first planning session
  • Confirmation of the next steps and what I am offering

Step 3. Creating Your Camino

Every Camino is different, so the process from here varies from pilgrim to pilgrim.

Some people simply need a review and a few recommendations. Others require a more detailed planning process with Zoom sessions, route notes, accommodation suggestions and follow-up discussions.

Depending on the service you’ve chosen, I’ll either review your existing itinerary or begin creating a personalised Camino plan based on your goals, pace and preferences.

Either way, we’ll work together to create the level of support that’s right for your Camino.

What I Cannot Offer or Do

I love helping pilgrims plan their Camino, but I’m not a travel agent or tour operator.

My role is to help you create a realistic Camino plan, while ensuring you retain control and flexibility over your own journey.

Because of that, I do not:

  • Book flights, trains or accommodation on your behalf (although I’m very happy to suggest options and share recommendations)
  • Arrange luggage transfer services for you (but I can explain how they work and how to organise them)
  • Provide ongoing concierge-style support or manage day-to-day logistics while you’re walking

What I can do is help you create a realistic and practical plan based on many years of Camino experience.

Camino Routes I Currently Support

I would love to help you plan your Camino. While I’ve walked 24 Caminos, there are only a handful of routes that I know in real depth through repeated walks, detailed research and years of helping other pilgrims.

To provide the best possible advice, I only offer planning and review services for routes that I know exceptionally well.

I currently offer planning support for:

  • Camino Francรฉs
  • Camino Portuguรฉs Central
  • Camino Portuguรฉs Coastal
  • Camino Spiritual Variant
  • Camino Inglรฉs

If you’re considering another Camino route, feel free to get in touch. Even if I can’t help with detailed route planning, I may be able to point you towards useful resources or suggest a one-to-one Camino Q&A session instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I need to have already chosen a Camino route?

No. If you’re unsure which route is right for you, we can discuss the options during our initial conversation and work out which Camino might be the best fit for your goals, timeframe and walking style.

2. Can you help me walk shorter stages?

Absolutely. Many of the itineraries I create are for folks who want to walk shorter days, take additional rest days and have a more relaxed Camino.

3. How far in advance should I contact you?

I only take on a limited number of planning clients each month, so I recommend getting in touch as early as possible, particularly if you’re planning to walk during busy periods.

4. Will you book accommodation?

No. I provide recommendations, but all bookings are made directly by you.

5. What if I want to change plans?

That’s completely normal. One of the advantages of being actively involved in the planning process is that you’ll understand your route and options, making changes much easier.

6. What if an accommodation is fully booked?

This can happen, particularly on busy routes or busy times such as during a Holy Year.

Where possible, Iโ€™ll suggest alternative stage options, nearby towns or backup accommodation ideas as part of the planning process.

7. How long does the planning process take?

Most Camino planning and review services are completed within around two weeks of our first planning session, although this can vary depending on route complexity and the level of support required.

Are You Ready To Start Planning?

One of the things I love most about the Camino de Santiago is that every walk unfolds differently.

Iโ€™m a planner.  I always have been.  Whether Iโ€™m walking or travelling I love a spreadsheet.  But regardless, that doesnโ€™t prevent or predict every encounter, or difficult day, or weather change or unexpected detour, and that is part of the beauty.

My role in this process is to help you begin your Camino feeling informed, prepared and confident about the journey ahead. It doesn’t take away the unexpected, nor should it.

Where ever you are on your own planning journey, if my help sounds like the kind of support youโ€™ve been looking for, complete the enquiry form below and we can arrange a short discovery chat.

Because Iโ€™d love to be part of your Camino.
