Youโve decided you want to walk the Camino โ but which route is best for you?
Iโve walked 23 Caminos alongside hundreds of pilgrims and Iโve used all that experience to develop a simple technique to help ensure that your first Camino is the right choice for you.
Each route has its own charm, it’s own rewards and challenges. The magic lies in finding the one that fits you best โ and thatโs exactly what this workshop will help you do.

What Youโll Learn in This Workshop
There are many recognised Camino routes across Spain and Europe, each with their own ancient history and each with a very different flavour. But which is right for you?
My workshop, removes the guesswork and helps bring some clarity with facts and figures about each route from pilgrims whoโve already walked. You’ll see that your choice of Camino isnโt about โgetting it rightโ โ but about choosing a Camino that matches your needs, your hopes, aspirations and your practical limits.

Why Choosing the Right Camino Matters โ and Why You Should Take This Workshop
When I first walked, I thought there was only one Camino. And I wasnโt alone. Most first-time pilgrims say theyโre walking the Camino de Santiago, but what they really mean is the Camino Frances.
Since my first walk, some routes have really grown in popularity, especially the trails through Portugal and the shorter Camino Ingles – others remain tranquil and the road less walked. The variety is incredible and for many first-time pilgrims, that choice can feel overwhelming.
The route you choose sets the tone for your entire Camino experience. Are you looking for
Your Camino can be all of thatโฆ but the route you pick shapes it from the start. And thatโs where this workshop comes in.
Instead of wading through hours of online opinions and forum threads, youโll get a clear, realistic look at your options โ from a pilgrim whoโs walked these paths and guided many others along them.
Weโll explore time, terrain, crowds, comfort, seasons, and your personal motivations. And youโll take part in my visualisation exercise to help you uncover what you truly want from this journey.
When we’re done, you wonโt just know whatโs out there โ youโll know which Camino is calling your name.
Why Trust Me With Your Camino Planning Advice?
Iโve read some fabulous Camino blogsโฆ and some questionable advice too. But when youโre short on time how to you choose, where do you start and how do you sort the wheat from the chaff or know who to trust?
Well my workshops are the advice that Iโd give my friends โ and hereโs why you can trust me!

Don’t Forget Travel Insurance
Whenever you travel, you should have great travel and medical insurance. None of us expect anything bad to happen, but in the event of an incident, you want to be sure that your insurance will cover you.
Iโve ended up in hospital in Peru, Indonesia, Portugal, Japan and Ireland. Every time my insurance took care of everything. I would never leave home without full and comprehensive insurance.
MondialCare : Due to increasing limitations, mainly due to age, we have recently switched to MondialCare for our travel insurance. We have taken an annual policy at a very reasonable cost that includes medical and other travel cover. There are no trip length limits and the upper age for cover is 84. For Camino walkers and travel in Europe they have a low cost Schengen policy with no age limit.
TrueTravellerย : We have used this policy and were very happy with the cover, especially considering our ages and pre-existing conditions.
Globelink: We have used and recommended Globelink for years and not heard of any issues. They are a great choice for European and UK Residents.
Genki : This is an EU based company offering long term policies for nomads and travellers. Their monthly rates are very competitive for longer trips too.
