Iโm a planner. I start with a spreadsheet, pore over guidebooks and highlight the must-visit spots. I look at daily distances, where to take rest days, and the best places to sleep.ย And I read and read and read!
But once Iโm walking, that plan usually goes out the window and I follow my nose. Most of us land somewhere in between but if youโve ever found yourself thinking:
Then this workshop is exactly what you need.

What Youโll Learn in This Workshop
The first rule of any Camino is that you need to walk your own walk.
For some that means booking a pre-made tour where everythingโs taken care of. For others itโs as simple as packing a bag and setting off.
The great news is that it doesnโt matter which kind of person you are. Whether youโre a spreadsheet lover or someone who prefers to keep it loose, this workshop will show you :
If you start this workshop wondering how on earth you can put everything together youโll end it with a clear sense of how and when to plan and why. I’ll show you what to book, what to leave open, and to walk knowing that even if the plan changes, youโre ready.

Want to Think About Planning? Then take The workshop!
Because planning – or research – is part of your Camino preparation. Even if you want no plan!
When I first walked I read a book by Tim Moore โ Travels with my Donkey. He charts his Camino across Spain with Shinto, his four legged friend. I loved that book. I wanted to see the places that he wrote about. And then I watched the movie The Way! Oh man, then I wanted to sleep in a Parador and find cheese-makers in the mountains and stay in a monastery with a host of new pilgrim friends.
I needed to know this stuff! Which meant I had to do a little planning.
If you can answer yes to any of the following then my workshop really is for you!
Planning your Camino does not mean you want to be rigid and lose any sense of freedom. It means you want to be informed. Everyone has a different level – Take this workshop to learn yours!

Don’t Forget Travel Insurance
Whenever you travel, you should have great travel and medical insurance. None of us expect anything bad to happen, but in the event of an incident, you want to be sure that your insurance will cover you.
Iโve ended up in hospital in Peru, Indonesia, Portugal, Japan and Ireland. Every time my insurance took care of everything. I would never leave home without full and comprehensive insurance.
MondialCare : Due to increasing limitations, mainly due to age, we have recently switched to MondialCare for our travel insurance. We have taken an annual policy at a very reasonable cost that includes medical and other travel cover. There are no trip length limits and the upper age for cover is 84. For Camino walkers and travel in Europe they have a low cost Schengen policy with no age limit.
TrueTravellerย : We have used this policy and were very happy with the cover, especially considering our ages and pre-existing conditions.
Globelink: We have used and recommended Globelink for years and not heard of any issues. They are a great choice for European and UK Residents.
Genki : This is an EU based company offering long term policies for nomads and travellers. Their monthly rates are very competitive for longer trips too.
