walking from Pamplona to Logrono on the Camino Frances

Camino Frances

800 kms To Santiago De Compostela

Camino Frances

The Camino Frances is perhaps the most iconic of all the pilgrimage routes to the tomb of St James in Santiago de Compostela.

This beautiful Camino winds its way through the Pyrenees from St Jean Pied de Port in France. Meander for 800 kilometres through Pamplona, Logrono, Burgos, Leon and Astorga before arriving in the UNESCO city of Santiago.

I discovered this glorious route more than a decade ago and since that first walk I have continue to walk the Camino at least once every year. I trained as a lowland leader with the British Mountaineering Association and started a walking club in France and I’ve forgotten how many fabulous pilgrims I’ve led along the Camino Frances.

I wrote a blog during my first Camino, it has grown into Then We Waked and today I pour my thousands of kilometres of experience into my posts. I hope they help you find their feet along this ancient route.
